Dancing with Mrs. Claus

Can you imagine dancing with Mrs. Claus? She loves to dance. She loves to waltz to Silver Bells and swing to Jingle Bell Rock. Music comforts the soul. Learning to dance is one of my favorite things to do. I hope to show all my elves who don’t dance already that they can learn and even dance while they work.

Santa dances too and wonders how Mrs. Claus has time to but she does. You do what you have to to make your dreams come true.

Christmas Day

Christmas day is a special day. We gather with family and friends to celebrate together. Lots of parties, food, decorations, and gifts. Sometimes when your family is not with you or you are away from them it is not as celebratory but when you know the reason for the season then it becomes just that. A Christmas Season.

This year our family did not get together so I made close friends closer. That is something we should do all year. To not be involved with life of others is to not truly live a full life.

Santa’s Sleigh

Not just any old Sleigh. It’s a Cyber Sleigh! Yes! I got to ride in Santa’s Cyber sleigh! OH MY GOSH! It was incredible. Last night the air was crisp and the sky twinkled on us as we drove down the street looking at all the decorated houses. The Christmas Music and the lights surrounding us celebrated Christmas to the max! Santa in his very elaborate coat and suit and I in my dress and cape made it safely to a home where 70 children plus adults waited our arrival.

“HO HO HO! Merry Christmas!” Santa and Mrs. Claus were greeted with cheers and delightful laughing. It was a Jolly site to behold!

After Santa greeted everyone and helped Mrs. Claus down from the Sleigh we were escorted inside the house filled with people, beautiful Christmas Decor, and delicious food for the guests. Santa told a story about the Polar Express. The wide eyed children and their parents listened and answered questions that Santa had. At the end of the story he presented a silver bell from the reindeer’s bridle to every child.

“Do you hear it ringing? That’s because you believe in Santa Claus. Now, we need the bells in a little while to make the sleigh engine start because the sleigh responds to hearing the jingle bells. Don’t ring them too much inside… we don’t want the sleigh to take off without Mrs. Claus and I”.

It was picture time and time for Santa to hear requests from each one. He directed each pose and listened with delight to each request. I was amazed as I sat close by with respect and admiration for this beloved character.

We started for the sleigh and Santa had all the children follow us after we put on our cape and coat. Everyone with their bells stood and watched as the sleigh lights came on when they rang their bells. “Louder” said Santa. Then the music started and the sleigh purrrrrred then puttered and coughed. Engine trouble? No;

“Well, We all must say Merry Christmas as we ring the bells!” So we all repeated “Merry Christmas”! and the mighty sleigh started again. Santa helped me aboard and jumped into the drivers seat. The old world map on the dashboard lit up so we could see the route of our travel. Then the sleigh lifted up off the ground and turned in the other direction from where it was pointing. Cheers went up as it returned to the ground and the jet engine behind us started ”whirring”!

“Whoosh!” we were off in a flash with smoke trailing behind and joyful music filled the air! The thrill of it was so awesome that I had tears in my eyes as I looked to the sky full of bright stars. I was thinking “Wow”! I’m in Santa’s sleigh, with Santa Claus, and we are going to take off to travel the world. Laughing all the way back to where we started I just wanted to do it all again. …Was this a dream or a Hollywood movie? No, I was really there.

Scents of Christmas

What is your favorite Scent that you can remember at Christmas time? I love Peppermint. The Candy Cane is so bright and easily hangs from the branches of the Christmas tree. It has such a cool taste and is good for your stomach if you have a tummy ache and also aids in keeping Santa’s breath fresh.

What do you like to smell this time of year? Fresh Baked Pies or Turkey? Or do you love the scent of Pine on a fresh tree or wreath?

Lots of wonderful scents are available here at Christmas time. We celebrate with families and enjoy the warmth of good smelling cheer.

Mrs. Claus visits

I love to visit families at this time of year. The elves that report news about the children to Santa are very helpful if the family has one. I bring Cookies or Gingerbread Houses and we spend time decorating with lots of good things to eat.

There is time for stories and pictures too. Sometimes even the family pet is included. We just have to put the chocolate away in a safe place. Elves love to sing and play games so if there is time we also do that at a Mrs. Claus visit.

It is a magical and unique event for each family. Many children have questions about Santa or the North Pole and they try to stump me but it just doesn’t happen.

I am so proud of all the decorations and of the work of the little ones when they finish decorating their own cookie or gingerbread house.

I just am so thankful I am Mrs. Claus and have fun with the families I visit. I hope to meet you someday at a visit to my remote kitchens.

The Christmas Wreath

A circle of evergreen with Candles is how the advent wreath was started. At Christmas the symbolism of evergreen is the continuity of life and the prickly holly reminds one of the Cross. The circle of the wreath is without beginning or end meaning that God is eternal, soul immortal and life everlasting.

Christmas in your heart is forever too. Please remember to keep Christ first in your life everyday.

Kansas City Christmas lights

Traveling around Kansas City viewing the beautiful displays of Christmas lights we saw the Longview Lake display and the Country Club Plaza.
